New Years Day 2015 RideIt was a balmy 23 degrees when I rode out to meet Chris Jernigan, Chris & January Clapp an Jim Allen for our ride to breakfast at Crackerbarrel in Hickory. 18 members of which 17 rode enjoyed way too much food. Then we rode out for a ride down to Columbus, NC for lunch at Larkin's. 5 of us went on our own to keep groups smaller. When we got to Larkin's we still had 10 riders. [THUMBS UP SIGN] After a lighter lunch 6 of us rode up Skyuka Mtn. It was clear as I've ever seen! Then we rode toward home. I ended up with 220 miles on the first day of the year! Great way to start the year!

Re: New Years Day 2015 Ride23 degrees? Wait--is this the same Dave Brickner that I used to ride with, who complained about it being "too cold on the mountain" to ride up there when it was in the upper 40's?

Re: New Years Day 2015 Ride
So you got 4 items plugged into a dual controller. How does the heat work--balanced?...assuming the feet work off the pants and the gloves off the jacket? I have read some brands don't work well with others, i.e. gloves not getting hot unless the jacket is scorching, etc..these kinds of issues. So what brands do you have? Bob
Re: New Years Day 2015 RideThe jacket is a Gerbing the gloves Powerlet. Works great. The pants Gerbing the boot liners also Gerbing. It seems the pants get warmer than the boot liners. Also with all the heat under my foot the tops of my feet still get a bit cool. I possibly should have gotten the heated sox type??
