Ready to ride

Unread postby cyklnut » Sat Mar 11, 2023 6:12 am

A couple weeks ago sometime around the time Brick's bike went down I decided to bite the bullet and give my 690 some needed service. I was going to check valve adjustment and replace spark plug. Upon checking the valve lash I found the cam lobe on the exhaust side pitted. I took the bike over to Fun Cycles and had Ronnie replace the cam, exhaust rocker, spark plug, and timing chain tensioner. Got new rubber on the rear. Rode it home Tuesday, got through a couple of Dr. appointments and now me and the bike are ready.

Whoa… well my bike has been down 6 weeks but who’s counting?

Is that unusual?

Brick, do they give you any estimate as to when it will be done? Supply-chain issues? Most cars are repaired in a few days.....at least they used to be. Maybe you could ride it while waiting on some "cosmetic" stuff..?

Friday I got a call from Sean. He said that they go the painted parts back from the painter… that has been the big delay.
Sometime Saturday they would start on assembly and probably complete it on Tuesday. So I can get it sometime after that. Finally!

So I’ll be looking for someone to take me over get it. I intend to ride it home.

Ok thanks… the weather looks to be the warmest on Thursday. So if it’s ready that’s a possibility in the afternoon.
