flip… Phil Campbell had a Heart Attack!

Unread postby Brick » Fri Sep 23, 2022 5:12 pm

I just got this text from Phil:

Hi Brick. I have to cancel on the WV Fall Colors Ride. I am in the hospital ER in Sevierville, TN. I’ve apparently had a heart attack. They are gonna transport me to a bigger hospital in Knoxville, TN. Y’all have fun and tell the guys I’m jealous.

Update: I’m ok

I was in TN and had chest tightness and pretty bad pain in my left arm. I went to the ER in Sevierville. It’s a small hospital. EKG’s were normal but 4 blood tests done all that day and evening (don’t remember the name) showed some enzyme increase that shows a “cardiac event “ aka heart attack. That also did some ct scans for my some other week news and numbness I had going on. And checked for blood clots. They finally got clearance to send me to a large hospital in Knoxville that has a cardiac unit. I had a nice ambulance ride. I got an MRI. While waiting for a heart cath they talked to me about stints and possible bypass surgery.

The heart cath showed NO DAMGE to my heart. So, no hear attack.

No real answers other than my blood pressure was high and that might cause the elevated enzymes…not sure but if you are hurting like hell and feel like you are having a heart attack, I think that might be what caused the high blood pressure. But I’m not a doctor…

So it looks like I will live. No riding for a couple of weeks at least to let my wrist heal completely where they went in for the heart cath.

The scans showed narrowing around my spinal cord which would cause the numbness and weakness in my leg. Somewhere down the road I’ll be looking at spinal surgery.

Getting old sucks.

Whoa! Damn… you got away with that one! I really glad for you that there is no heart damage. That’s one of the things going on with me now… the damage from both of my “Cardiac events” I kicking my ass!

Best to you brother! [FISTED HAND SIGN][HEAVY BLACK HEART]️
