But it was worth it! Fun fun day and thanks to Brick for leading us around all day. Scott-Lee-Brick-me---around Lake James--up 80--Double Island--lunch at Bubbas--Big Laurel--Revere Rd---Walnut Creek---Scrotum Creek or something like that---Coxes Creek--Jacks Creek---all those great "creek roads" north of Burnsville---NC80 from Bakersville south--and more. You shudda been there! And we found a really cool spot on Piney Hill Rd with a view looking west that was amazing-->>

Fun ride! We discovered the new-to-us road, Piney Hill, NW of Burnsville. It has a series of steep switchbacks and crests at a view so stunning it stopped us in our tracks for pictures.

Truly a great day riding! It started at the Gate in Morganton as I got there first. Then three riders on FZ6’s from Charlotte rode up. As the rest of the Old Farts showed up we were telling Mat, Gotham and xxxx (I don’t remember the third riders name) about all the great roads around. They seemed to only know of the major roads. They rode with us to lunch at Bubba’s and then they headed back to Charlotte. We, however, were just getting started. Scott also headed home as his new to him ex-Bob RT front tire was gone! Bob, Lee and I had a great romp on all the roads Bob and Lee mentioned. When I got home I had ridden almost 300 miles so I know Bob had a much bigger mileage day! Fantastic! All y’all missed a great day riding!

We had a great time with yall. So happy to have bumped into this group when we did. We do ride every Saturday and were getting tired of riding the more popular roads as mentioned. Thanks for having us tag along. We have so many more roads to explore and right here in our backyard Looking forward to riding with the COFSTAs soon.

Greg and me also got in a good dual sport ride Sunday on our KTM's. We entered the forest service roads on MapleSally to Globe road then to an area I've been wanting to explore east of Blowing Rock and south of the BRP. Turns out there's all sorts of cool roads over there - Benge Ashe, Big Ivy, Summit, Fall Creek, Stoney Fork, Obie Green...and more we didn't get to. We rode 7:30-12:30 and had lunch at Zaxby's in Lenoir where it was 95 degrees...yikes!
