Ecuador ... another optionBrick
2020 BMW R1250GS
Re: Ecuador ... another optionLooks to be fairly epic and the prices are reasonable. I'd do it.
Re: Ecuador ... another optionNow THAT looks interesting. Are we on speaking terms with Ecuador this week? Who cares.
Mexico is closer but kinda blah compared to this. Edit: Hell, one of our forum members is FROM Ecuador--Carlos Ramia. He rode with us once--hey Carlos, you still lurking out there? Bob
Re: Ecuador ... another optionFrom that website--the more I read the more I like Ecuador:
In Ecuador, you'll get a feeling that the police are on your side. They are not hidden in stealthy vehicles waiting for an excuse to give you a traffic ticket. Police cars in Ecuador cruise with their lights on - so that you can see them and if you need help you can find them easy!. Yes it is a refreshing change from what you may be used to! The police in Ecuador are working for your safety and security. Our experience, after riding through 16 Latin American countries, is that they are of very high integrity. While Ecuador has tough traffic laws in place, the government does not view traffic fines as a source of revenue. There are VERY few radar guns or speed traps in Ecuador! As in all Latin American countries, there are checkpoints along the road where you will be required to show identification and papers for the vehicle you are driving. We will provide you with everything you need to quickly pass these checkpoints Above all, you will not be asked for a bribe or a shake down or for a "tip." The anti corruption laws are very strictly enforced. Bob
