2008 BMWK1200S

Unread postby PirateRiderBen » Sun Jul 03, 2016 7:07 pm

title in hand!
FOR SALE: my 2008 BMW K1200S
The Good:
167hp 98 foot lbs of torque 1200cc I4 w/ 6 speed
All day comfy
20.5k miles
Puig windscreen
Stomp Grip tank pads
Cheap to insure relative to what it is since it's a touring bike not a sport bike.
Ram Ball mount
BMW rear luggage rack
Throttle Meister bar ends
Oberon 36mm clutch slave cylinder
Garmin GPS charger cable installed
Tires only have about 1000 miles on them. (metzler m7rr)
Services are up to date till 24k miles, oil just changed 1000 miles ago. Castrol Power RS 4t full synthetic.

The Bad:
-I lowsided it in May, and has the corresponding scuffs, scratches, and a few very small cracks in the left fairing. I have photos of the accident if you haven't seen them already. Only things that were replaced were the clutch master cylinder resivoir and the left side foot peg. Fairing cracks will be patched from the back side to add strength. Bike runs and rides just fine. Unfortunately it now has a salvage title. Hence the low price.
- bike was purchased by me with out ABS. The system is present but non functional as are many BMW cars and bikes of this time period. Brakes work 100%. Module masters offers a rebuild with 5 year warranty for only around 250$.

Book value with clean title in good shape is 8000$

ImageImageImageImageThis is a great opportunity to get a absolutely mind blowingly fast motorcycle.

I'm asking 4850$ obo.

The bags in the photos are not included as one was destroyed in the crash. Please feel free to contact me with questions, I rode 205 miles July 3rd and the bike was 100% perfect all day. It is turn key and ready to rip!

You will need the upper fairing, too. The upper is $748 and the side fairing is $935 per Carolina BMW. I think stickers and the plastic BMW logos are extra. As such, I no longer own a BMW.

Yeah those prices are right. Plus all the screws and other doodads. The damage was all cosmetic except the rearset and the clutch resivoir.
Like I said the bike runs just fine and rides great. Scratches be damned!

Ebay may have some less expensive opportunities. Still too rich for my blood. I'm probably going naked from here on out. The guys brought to my attention the new VFR1200X Crosstourer on the floor at the shop. If Honda brings the 800X here, I might take a look.

Finding Tri color fairings is pretty hard. These really are not in terrible shape. The less I put into it means the more ill negotiate on the price. It's priced accordingly in respect to what it is.
And yes I agree with the naked or quarter faired concept being better, which is why I have an R1200R now.
