I mentioned to Bob that we had some interesting dual-sport-y bikes at the dealership, and he said "put 'em up on COFSTA" in the classifieds... so with apologies to anyone who finds this too commercial: We have two pre-owned KLRs: ...and a 2000 DRZ400 which looks to need some TLC, but is all there: They're asking $1,499 for the DRZ, and if anyone cares to hear more about any of the bikes I can easily reply via PM... just holler.

That's what you have, isn't it (just older)? ...I was surprised by how much pep it had, IIRC we were running along at 80ish in SC.

Yup--it would hang in there with my old KLR650! But a LOT lighter. Ed, feel free to post used stuff, anything we might be interested in. Even Harleys! Do they allow test rides on used machines?

I'll have to talk to my wife about that DRZ - an easy Christmas present. I assume it's ready for street registration ?

I frequently peruse craigslist just because. Interesting bikes are always welcome. Not sure about Harleys but to each his own.

I don't see mirrors or turn signals on the pictured DRZ - make sure it isn't the non-street legal "E" model.

It appears to have some sort of headlight though...and turn signals aren't required by law. So maybe add a brake light....and some cheap bar-end mirrors.

I'll dig into answering re: street-ability tomorrow, and post back.
Bob- 'conditional yes' to test rides; it's at the sales manager's discretion (must have m/c endorsement, proof of insurance kinda stuff) but I'd think any one of us here would meet the criteria.

Not in North Carolina. In this state it's nearly impossible to plate a dirt bike.

Spot-on, Lee... I checked again and it's a "DRZ400EY", with neither the harness for rear lights nor a mounting point for a tag. Nice Connie! I was teasing Bob earlier with pic of an '07 RT in stock which looks just like the one he had.

So far so good. Scheduled the other eye for Dec.9. Hope to be specs-free when riding!
