2012 Yamaha Super Tenere'

Unread postby Brick » Thu Mar 20, 2014 10:46 am

Bike has been ridden by and OLD retired guy... so it certainly hasn't been ridden hard or anything.

It ONLY has 61,000 miles but they were easy miles... <rdr>

It is my plan to buy the new 2014 Super Tenere' ES... transfer most of the accessories off my bike to the new one and sell the 2012. I'm really intrigued by the changes they made in 2014.

I will be leaving the trunk and rear rack, I'll probably leave the FZ-1 Fuse block, the Freeway blaster horns, I will leave the dash and the two Powerlet outlets. I'll put the stock skid plate on.

It will be interesting to have both bikes at the same time while I transfer the saddle bags etc to the new bike.

Not sure when this will happen just yet as I'm kind of waiting to see what Chris Jernigan is going to buy to replace his totaled Tenere'. He seems bound and determined to buy a new bike and he IS a shopper! We test road the 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure R and the 2014 BMW GS water head with the ES last Saturday. They didn't have a demo KTM 1190 Adventure and the R model is a different bike. Both bike are very powerful and have great brakes. The KTM is amazing but has very poor low speed fueling and the heat will cook your nuts! The GS is so refined... an excellent motorcycle. Did I mention that the KTM has soooo much power!! WOW!! ZOOOOOMMMMM!!!! <bugeye>

Anyway I posting my Super T for sale here in case anyone is interested. I think I can get $10,000 for it and will probably take it to http://www.bubbasbikebarn.com/ where I sold my FJR.

This will be interesting. <pop>

Keep us posted as to the shopping process (Chris') and the bikes tested.

BTW, what are the changes made to the new S-Ten?

Yes it is very interesting!! [FLUSHED FACE] Saturday Chris is going to Asheville BMW to test ride the 2013 GS Rally that Gary used while his was "in the shop" and a 2013 Used Adventure GS. He keeps saying, "Why should I buy the old technology?" [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Here is the site that tells of the Super T changes. http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/ ... /home.aspx

They do offer the standard Super Tenere (which has some of the upgrades) and the ES model. <tour> <tour> <tour>

Tell Chris to get the Rally if they make him a good deal on it. Last year of the Camhead, the best one yet! <bana>

I'll go to $9.95, but not a penny more.
