Senna

I am ready to take the plunge and buy a Senna. Sounds like most are recommending the 20 model. I am initially only interested in connecting to my Zumo and my ICOM radio. What all do I need to buy beyond the base unit. Looks like the Zumo came with cables. Do I need a special cable for the radio?

In addition to the Sena 20S, you'll need a Sena SR10 to connect to the radio and GPS. The SR10 allows you to also plug a radar detector and GPS audio into the SR10 so you'll get those audio sources thru the headset. When you buy the SR10, order the correct cable for the Icom radio. Revzilla has them I think.

Does your Zumo have a 1/8" audio-out jack?

my Garmin 590Lm came with a cable with a:
2.5 mm female microphone jack
3.5 mm stereo line out audio
3.5 mm stereo line in audio

The stereo line out would plug into the SR10.

It comes with the SR10. It 'should include an extension cable for the PTT.

Scott--this might not be the best solution for you if you want to listen to the MP3 player on the Garmin. The connection between the SR10 and Sena 20S is not "music quality", not stereo. It would be fine to get the turn-by-turn directions though.

Edit: if the Garmin has a Bluetooth audio connection, you could pair it directly with the headset and use the SR10 only for getting the GMRS audio. And I think it does.

My Zumo will do that (Bluetooth to the SMH10) for certain.

Don't have plans to listen to music. Have a hard enough time to keep the noggin on the task at hand.

Then you can run the GPS turn by turn audio through the SR10 and not worry with pairing GPS to your headset.
