Best place to buy Sena?

Unread postby Brick » Sat Oct 22, 2016 7:24 am

Been looking to get an SMH20. Lee has beaten me into submission. So all I've found is $269.00.

It appears Sena requires all their retailers to conform to a minimum advertised price (MAP). Here's one from Ebay for $235. http://www.ebay.com/itm/sena-20s-/26267 ... 6z&vxp=mtr The seller is from Gibsonville NC.

I would not buy a used one. There were way too many 20S's early on that had real issues--now they are out of warranty.

Broz and I found a couple of them for $207.95 on Amazon. Its up a little now.

I saw that $218 on Amazon but it's only from one vendor, Parts Giant, with one recorded sale over the last 12 months. I'd be careful. https://www.amazon.com/sp?_encoding=UTF ... asStoreID=

Lee, Broz and I were initially concerned about the obscure seller so I called Sena. They said as long as you buy the item THRU Amazon the warranty is in effect, regardless of who the seller is. Much rather have a new-in-box from Amazon retailer for $207 than a "supposed new-in-box" from an individual for $240. But I think there are several different sellers you can choose from. If not, wait a few hours and re-check, put in a different shipping zip-code and see what you find. Amazon plays musical sellers on a lot of things, changing by the hour.

"Designed with an innovative dual antenna and 2 separate processors, one for Bluetooth, and one for Adaptive Mesh-Networking, the 30K has the ability to connect to each processor simultaneously with the new multi-operation feature. With the ability to dually connect to both Adaptive Mesh-Networking and Bluetooth 4.1, the 30K offers the connectivity you need while riding"

Thanks for the link and their new Adaptive Mesh sounds like it would solve the intercom problem where the Master goes out of range and everybody loses connection. Unfortunately, it seems they're also saying, in a fuzzy Sena-ish sort of way, that this technology only works with other 30k units - all others stay with the current bluetooth connection. Hard to know for sure.
