LED Tail Light

Unread postby yamadog » Thu Apr 04, 2013 11:56 am

Some of you may have noticed the LED tail light added to my rear fender. If you are interested, it came from Galls LLC, 1340 Russell Cave Rd., Lexington, KY 40505 1-800-477-7766. Really easy on the install. Several options for flash, solid/flash, solid, etc. Two holes and bolt it on. Requires splicing into the original brake light wiring. I soldered everything. Model GR309R. Cost $41.40 plus shipping.

Thanks! ...while you were posting this, I'd put up a question about it.

<worthlss> Ok... so I don't remember what yours looks like and can't see it from here. <grin> This person doesn't have a web site???

I was looking at these that were posted on the Super Tenere' Forum.

Hmmm... $32 seems to be less than $41. Right!?

Thinking I'll go the 'SupaBrake' modulator route on the SV1k, since it's already got LEDs in the taillamp... but pick up one of the Whelen lamps for the B12, which could use the help for sure.

Good service! ...both were ordered on the 4th, and arrived today.

I'll have to gimmick together a bracket for the Galls light; the SupaBrake module had the right connectors, and took all of 30 seconds to install.

Thanks for the info on the module <thumb>

Holy shit that Whelen light is bright <bugeye> ...using one of the blink/flicker modes would get you run over for sure by some angry pr*ck in stop-and-go traffic.

Ok what p/n or model Whelen did you get. Picture or link as from what I remember Whelen's website shows them lit up.

I got that same GR309R that Bob posted the link for... http://www.galls.com/cgi/CGBCSTYL?PAMODE=*ENTR&PARTPG=CGBCSRCH&PMSTYL=GR309

Jim has one on his FJR, and you can -really- see it.

It looks like they have one for the FJR too, however, I don't see where it might plug and play. Might you know?

I don't know about the plug and play one for the FJR... The one on the Super Tenere' was super easy.

FWIW I put one of their non-PnP units onto my (ancient) Bandit 1200, and the wiring was a breeze.
