I recently had to replace the tires on my Shiver. I had Michelin Road 4’s on it. They lasted less than 5000 miles. I decided to go cheap and went with Continental Continental-motions. 120/70/17 and 180/55-17 set were just over $260 mounted and balanced with me taking the wheels off and bringing them into Cycle Gear where I ordered them from. If the don’t have the tires in stock you can order them online and have them shipped to the store and the don’t charge you for shipping.
I rode my Shiver today to run some errands and was on some back roads. The tires felt really good and the bike seemed to roll into corners with less effort than before. The previous rear tire was a 190/55-17 and now it’s a 180/55-17. Before those I had a 190/50-17 rear. The bike has a 6” rear rim so all 3 sizes will fit correctly. It’s gonna take a lot more miles to be sure but I think I’m gonna like this 180 rear tire. I have bought Continental-motions previously and had no complaints with them.
