Sena 30K Ordered

Unread postby LeeDavis » Tue Apr 03, 2018 10:39 am

Jeff and I ordered a pair of the new Sena 30K's and we'll likely get Greg on board if the mesh intercom technology works for two. I'll keep y'all informed of results as things progress.

I know you'll put it thru its paces. Interested to hear about this. <pop>

Can we ask how much you paid?

Also has anyone ever used the Ambient sound button on the 20?

I have tried it and it didn't really do anything worthwhile. It did not amplify someones voice standing next to me but it picked up helmet vibrations if I thumped the side of the helmet. Pretty worthless for me.

Jeff ordered them but I think he paid around $425 for a dual pack. Prices vary a lot, $425-$525, with generally much better prices from vendors on Amazon and Ebay vs places like Revzilla.

For example:

Reading the stuff on that link, it says re. battery life, " Bluetooth intercom: 13 hours, Mesh intercom: 8 hours". Might be necessary to charge it during lunch to get a long day out of it.

Last weekend Jeff and I automatically connected on public mesh with 30K's and at the same time paired to Greg via bluetooth to his 20s. Jeff also did GPS prompts from Garmin and music from his phone. Jeff said he didn't necessarily agree with Sena's device interrupt hierarchy but operationally everything we've tried works fine.
