So when ya gonna get this "bike of choice" you mentioned? I assume it starts with a "K".

Yeah, it looks like you've got TKC80 tires and I also learned the hard way that they're great 50/50 tires but don't cut it when offroad gets more serious. The knobs are close together so the in-between spaces fill with dirt or mud then you lose all traction. I run Pirelli M21 front and Dunlop D606 rear on my DRZ for that reason.
