Well when I got there I asked a number of regular track day junkies about tire pressures. All said to run lower than I ran on the street. Some said as much as 10 lbs. I lowered them 8 lbs. Then Doug and Becky the MSTA track participants who were assisting in doing this Sport Touring Track Day. They were telling all to just run what pressures we ran on the street. But said to not worry about my lower pressures.
I'm sure it made some difference but I'm also sure it wears tires more quickly. Steve should chime in here as he has done a lot more track days than I have.
As I understand lower pressures builds up more heat makes the tire softer.
