Saturday 4/13

Unread postby Broz » Sat Apr 13, 2013 9:45 pm

Well it was a great ride just missing good company. I could post at least a dozen great photos but but I will need to re-size them Take my word for it, it was a beautiful day up in the mountains. I road 386 miles door to door. From my house then Halfway hardware, Old 18 to I-40 to Marion to Hwy NC 80. Ran up to Mt Mitchell and back to hwy 80 then on to the Double Island. Then towards TN up Roan Mt. back down Hwy 80 went home via 226 to Jonestown/Golden Valley. All in all a fantastic day. Very little traffic on the road, you would have thought it was a quiet weekday but starting at 7:00 AM helps. Got some cool videos up and down Hwy 80 using my IPhone mounted to the handle bars. If there was a rider in front of me you would give better perspective of the lean angle. I will try and upload some photos soon.

I like the music...but I would turn the music track down a notch so the motor came thru better. No vibration either--is it shock mounted or just straight to handlebars?

I see blind kenny was out but the pics aren't posted yet. Did you go yesterday too?

As far as the music I only added it because I thought that was standard. Most people get bored w/o it. As far as the selection I didn't go thru my library very long. The original video clip was about 5 minutes and it was the first song I came across that was long enough. Then I had to cut the video down because Vimeo free account only let's you have a 500 mb file and after finalizing 1080i the file was 690 MB so I redid it at 720 and that reduced the file size significantly. It is easy enough to remove the music. I thought it sounds pretty bad ass hearing the engine rev but was trying to familiarize myself with all the apps features.

As far as no vibration goes the IMovie app has a button I clicked that removes vibration. I was using the Ram X mount so you know it is pretty stable stable but can shift/rock a bit side to side but I did not notice any movement. I attached a 6 inch Ram extension that I have been using w the GPS to lift the IPhone above the dash.

Blind Kinney was out there and if you pull up 4/13 you will see some pics he got of me coming and going because I went up, down, up and back down at end if the day. Some good shots.

From now on if/when we ride that road again we should go up to parkway then go back down it again and then back up and get some photos in one of the good corners. I love that section of road. <joecool>
