Broz, Brick, Lee, Scott, PRB, and I met up at the Gate and Brick lead us on a nice trek up 268 and Elk Creek Rd to Boone where we dined at Dos Amigos. After lunch we hit Howards Creek, Tater Hill, Georges Gap, 194, and Hickory Nut Gap, after which Broz and I headed for home. Brick led the rest somewhere...where was that Brick? I only took 1 pic on Tater Hill and of course it makes that extremely steep and scenic view look like the flatlands. But we had a great ride, especially nice to see Brick back on 2 wheels again--just like old times!

After I departed early I headed down 105 to lunch at Christas. Then the R bike and I feasted on 181, and let me tell you that new suspension is awesome. The BMW is absolutely nasty now. Stable, responsive, firm. Mmmmm, it was fun. Then I went home and took some vitamins and a nap and such to try to get feeling 100%. Hope to be feeling better soon and we will ride again! -PRB Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

OMG... Damn that was fun! It's been WAY toooo long since I got out for a romp! [THUMBS UP SIGN] Just outside of Newland Lee, Scott and I ran across Spanish Oak to 19 toward Spruce Pine. Lee and I turned off on 194 and Scott rode on to... well somewhere. We rode 183 to 181 and had a nice run down 181 to home. All in all around 172 smiles for me. It just feels super being back riding again. Oh yea many of us commented on what a nice clear run up 194 and across Hickorynut gap we had with very few cars! [THUMBS UP SIGN][THUMBS UP SIGN]

Fun ride! We started off taking things a little easy but soon enough Brick was hooning it up, same as ever. Can't keep a good man down!

Damn... I must eat my words! On this ride we found that the upper end of Piedmont Road had been chip & sealed and was not much fun. Well the discussion was started abut the possibility of it being prepared to be replaced. I said "Oh hell no Burke county would just leave it like that". Well they just finished replacing Piedmont Road!!! I haven't ridden it but it's a pleasure to drive on!

I have not gone to the upper end but I asked a flagger who said that they were paving to the end then all the way back down in the other lane. Both lanes are paved past where I live.

Friggin racetrack now--can't wait to try it out. Hope they don't heap gobs of gravel on the shoulders.
