Ride to the Edge of the WorldYes brick, we did ride lol. And U shudda been there. Old Duc, yamadog, broz, tripod, and I took Old 18 to Morganton, then backroads thru Painters Gap to Lake Lure--actually Chimney Rock where we had burgers at the Riverwatch Deli. Pretty tasty. Then we headed over to the Edge of the World. After viewing the edge, we took Old 25 south from Hendersonville and Mountain Page Rd. back to Saluda, followed by Green River Cove down the mountain and around Lake Adger to hwy 9. Weather was a little chilly and windy but mostly clear. 10 hours later I was back home at 7:00 PM and missed ALL the gridlock on I-485. Great company and ride!!

Re: Ride to the Edge of the WorldThanks to Bob for putting a great ride together!

Re: Ride to the Edge of the WorldI've had lunch at Riverwatch and agree that it's pretty good, plus I like places where you can eat on a deck or outside, weather permitting.
Re: Ride to the Edge of the WorldSo you have named White Oak Mountain the Edge of the World??? Skyuka road etc... Was one of the roads still closed?

Re: Ride to the Edge of the World
No Brick, I haven't gotten desperate enough for new places to ride (yet) that I'm renaming the old ones, lol. Try googling Worlds Edge Rd. Its at least 10 miles north of White Oak Mtn. These pics are facing due east--you can see Crowders Mtn. and Kings Pinnacle way off in the distance about 60 miles away in that pic. On a *really clear day you can see the buildings of downtown Charlotte 85 miles off, though binoculars help. Its an unusual spot where the mountains just seem to stop, with a sheer 2000 foot drop to the lowlands below. There is also a gravel road just behind where we were standing that switch-backs up to the top of Sugarloaf Mtn. about 1000 ft higher. You might want to run the S-Ten up there one day. Bob
Re: Ride to the Edge of the WorldWhoa! Fantastic! There it is like its the back side of Chimney Rock or almost! Very cool!
