I was reading through the Sept post about Yarbi's accident, and didn't see anything mentioned about the road conditions at that spot.
There have been multiple motorcycle incidents at that same location recently. I have personally been re-routed around two of them since early September.
It's the very first section of switchbacks roughly 3-miles south of Morganton. There is a waterflow problem that's causing an extremely fine coat of sand/silt to wash over the pavement surface. You really can't see it, but you can sure feel it when the traction goes away.
Please be extra careful through that section.
