We rode to the highest point in Slovenia today. Amazing road. It was 9 kilometers to the top cost 5 Euros is 1 1/8th lanes wide. There was a hairpin turn IN a tunnel and lots is switch backs.
Green River cove road is a straightaway.

Impressive...views like that make you feel small.

I saw where you'd made it to Slovenia which looks like you've sorta run out of Alps in that direction.

A 35 kilometer part was a paved "goat path". 1 1/10 lane wide. Amazing! Paso Manghen. [THUMBS UP SIGN]
Then we went swimming here at Lake Garda. Image

Chris and I are having a ball. We travel well together and using the Sena we laugh and share the awesomeness of all we see all day long. This is a wooden MC mounted on springs. Cool but strange! Image
Last nights pizza.

Ohio Howard had to cancel as his wife broke her foot three days before the trip and it was serious enough that she couldn't get around. It's been a few surgeries since.

This was on Paso di Manghen, Italy. we rode this paved goat path for 35 kilometers and this was the pass in the middle a cafe and lot of hikers.

I'm doing this from my little laptop this time and find that it's much easier from tapatalk on my iPhone. This is a pain in the ass. <squid>

Going to take a ferry boat today up Lake Garda to Riva del Garda. It is HOT here too... too damn hot and no AC! It was pretty uncomfortable sleeping. However it is amazingly beautiful this AM.

Got home last night at 10:30. Was a 23 1/2 hour day for me. Got to subway station in Munichen at 5:30am and the evacuated the station at 5:40 for some emergency. I still needed to get to the airport so I paid a taxi. Then I got there way early because the subway would have taken much longer. 10 hour flight to Atlanta with no video/audio screen in front of me. They kept trying to reset it but nothing. Got a $50 voucher... wow. 4 hour layover in Atlanta. 35 minute flight to Charlotte.
Up this AM to the Gym at 6:30am ready to go!
We rode 19 of the 20 days we had the bikes. The Yamaha FJ-09 had 5 kilometers on it when I got it. I put on 5,785 kilometers which is 3,595 miles. The dealer said, wow that's as many miles as most riders put on in a year here. I said yes lots in the USA only put 5,000 on a year too.
It was such an amazing adventure! Could I afford it I would go again in a minute.

Not that I ever doubted...but it's great that the trip lived up to your expectations. Riding the Alps makes you so cool it might not be legal! I think sucky flights home are part of it.

Thats averaging 189 miles per riding day. Pretty much right on target. Now back to the boring Blue Ridge. <violin>

Betcha Patricia would like to see the Alps now..... <pop>

Whoa... I gained "cool" creed for this trip? Hmmm... I side benefit that I never thought of!
No Patricia doesn't seem to care. She would like to go to the small villages and shop and eat local bread and cheese.
Every where we went these little Cafe's along the way we stopped for lunch were family run and made there own cheeses. We would order a cheese and meet plate which came with a basket of local breads too. Oh and did I mention the local wine by the pitcher. We only made that mistake once. Too much to drink when riding is not good.
Getting into the local thing was wonderful!
