Yamadog and I met up with Yarbi, Brick, Lee, and the FNG BobW at the Halfway Hardware at 10:00. From there we followed the pre-ordained route of Golden Valley, and up 80/197 to Erwin, TN. Lee took the lead going up 80 to unleash the inner hooligan on his new FJ-09. The roads were mostly at 85%, not bad as most of the crud had washed to the sides except on 19W on the NC side heading back from Erwin, where it looked like sand dunes in the middle of the lanes in the higher elevations. Weather was great--partly cloudy, windy, and not a trace of rain. South of Burnsville we tried a new-to-me road, Blue Rock Rd., which emptied into Seven Mile Ridge Rd, and would have been pretty good if it wasn't for the road crud present. After a final stop at the Big Lynn Lodge for a photo-op and tire kicking, we all went our separate ways, Yamadog and I heading down 226 to Polkville and then 182/etc back home. All in all a great day and great company! A 360 mile round trip for us.
