Wednesday Oct 8 Ride

Unread postby 007 » Wed Oct 08, 2014 5:16 pm

Hey guys, made it home OK. I realized there was no way I would get back in reasonable time, as much as I wanted to continue on 194 with you, and traffic was building. Had a great ride!

Yea I know why you turned around... But it probably would have been shorter to go straight over to 105 and over to Boone and then 421.
It was a great days ride. Glad you made it over. Even with the wet roads and wet leaves it was still a great ride. [THUMBS UP SIGN] Image on Roan Mtn. Most of the leaves were gone already up there.

You guys look like a couple of BAD ASSES. <udaman>

I took my dad out for his first ride on his new 2014 CanAm Spyder. We rode up Old 18 and 181 BRP To Blowing Rock and home on 321. It was nice being able to ride with my dad and show him some of the roads I have been talking about for some time. <bana>

I kept thinking "where is Broz?" today. Pity the storms had to throw water and debris all over most of the roads. Old 18 was ready to kill me this morning going south to meet Tom at Halfway. Managed to hit some wet sand and then a dog jumped out of the bushes in the same corner. Then followed a logging truck for a while. Brick tried to lead me on an uphill gravel road to end the day. I realize all of this was just a ploy to make me buy Lee's KLR. Overall a great trip.

Ha that dog had a good day. He chased me too. I bet we were 30 minutes behind you on Old 18. He ambushed me I. That really tight left then right, and tried to chase me for 100 yards.
