Hmm, not too much happening so here're a few pics to look at from my last rides.
The 1st is from the DS ride I did solo - nobody else wanted to go along. It was a perfect day.
This is the entrance to the Curtis Creek area. Apparently it's got some history.
Curtis Creek Rd went from 70 west of Marion up to the BRP. Across the road on the BRP was this closed road that looked like another way to Toe River Rd where I was headed. Note the easy path around the gate.
The road went on nice for a while but then there was this huge washout. Some kind of flash flood had wiped out 100 ft of road down to rocks with a massive gully at the end. It might be doable but not when I'm alone on a closed road.
I backtracked over towards Mt Mitchell, up Toe River Rd, back down on NC-80 to the BRP heading north to NC-105. The "Blue" of the Blue Ridge Mts was in beautiful form...stunning.
I finished off the ride with a run down NC-105. As always, the sight of Table Rock and Linville Gorge from Wiseman's View is the bomb.
The following weekend Jeff was up for some twisty riding so we did. I suckered out and sprung for pics by Blind Kenny on NC-80.
