8-14 Ride to the Snake & US58

Unread postby Bob » Fri Aug 15, 2014 8:40 am

Ed, Broz, Yamadog, and I met Lee in Lenoir and then had lunch at Woodlands BBQ in Blowing Rock. Ed's back was bothering him again so after lunch he headed back home. We then took Schulls Mill, Old US421, and 421 to Shady Valley. The Ssssnake was in fine form today, weather was beautiful, clear and cool. Then we headed up to Damascus and east on US58, portions of which were very nice new asphalt. We did make a side trip over White Top Mtn. Then down 18, Brushy Mtn Road and home. A 380 mile day for me. I slept well. <grin>

Fun ride - all I had to do was follow along and look dumb - things I do exceedingly well!
