Ride July 30 Morganton - Roan Mountain

Met up at the Gate with Beemer Bob, Brick, Lee, OldDuc and yamadog. Headed around Lake James and then up Hwy 80 and many unnamed back roads into Burnsville. Lunch at Garden Deli (yum) and up to the top of Roan Mountain. On the way up my back tire started feeling "squishy". When we started at the park I found I was down to the threads on the right side. I had to limp home while the others continued on their merry way. Excellent weather and great roads. Thanks for Bob and Brick taking turns leading the way. New tire mounted next week and let's see if I can get another 2K out of this one ! Ann had a great time - here are some of her pics.

I too had a great ride today.
I didn't start this Check My Tour log until lunch but here it is.

Hmm... This is my rear tire after today. I see steel cord on mine and I'm sure you do too once you got home. Oh and PLEASE don't try to get 2K out of that tire!!!! I'm putting a new one on before my next ride!

Fun ride, loved it and enjoyed meeting Oldduc and Yamadog! Thanks all for putting this together, leading, deciding where to go, where to eat...all I did was ride along, awesome.
