Hey guys, I am planning a fall meet for members and guests of the VFRDiscussion.com forum. Great group of guys that Steve (007) and I have been associated with for awhile now. The details of the ride are as follows. Please comment on this thread if you are planning to attend. Hope to see you all there. I have a poll going on the thread on VFRD for locations of the meet and Asheville is looking like a run-away winner. Thanks!
"Hey all, due to some technical issues, the last thread I made about this meet has vanished. Big shout out to Miguel for getting my account sorted and back online. Below are the basics of the ride that I am planning for the weekend of October 10-14 2014.
Location, above in the poll you will see some options. I am going to leave these poles up till around August 10th, at which time the location with the most votes will be selected and I will begin working on lodging arrangements, so stay tuned for details. I personally think Asheville is an excellent area to ride from, as it is very central to many great roads, however it is up to the group.
Costs: I am not attempting to host an event as complicated as Baileyrocks baby, Tmac. So drinks and food will be up to the individuals and I will not be providing any beer or BBQ. With that said all costs to the participant will be their own (i.e. gas, travel, lodging, food etc...) The only cost I can imagine adding will be for Tshirts.
Shirts: I am not opposed to having a tshirt drawn up and made for this ride, however, I would need someone to help in this area. So if you are interested please let me know!
Ride Groups: Any groups will be split up as we come and I will not be arranging any pre-planned rides like we do at Tmac. Routes will be made up on the day of, and suggestions are always welcomed. The PACE will be observed as it is with any other ride. Safety and fun are the name of the game!
Please comment on this thread so I can determine the level of interest. Riders of all skill levels are welcome, and it doesn't matter if you do not ride a VFR. Feel free to invite non-forum members as well, the more the merrier.
I will update this thread if I think of anything more. I hope everyone is able to attend, I'm looking forward to it!!
