No pictures, so it didn't happen, but OMG was it wonderful. Perfect weather. Perfect service at Carolina BMW. Perfect ride. Alright so there were chemicals all over the road, so maybe not perfect. Nothing Ohlins can't handle. Anyways. Life is good.

Here is our route from today's ride. For me it was a 262 mile ride. In the AM on the way up we found quite a bit if crap on a number of roads.
In fact I was aiming for Hawg n Dawg in Erwin, TN. However NC 80 had so much crap that it was slow riding so we ended up eating at Helen's in Bakersville, NC. Bob had read about Helen's that they actually had some healthy grub. How true the Balsamic Chicken salad was excellent!
After lunch we for most roads pretty clean.
Also Big Laural to Revere Rd to Lonesome Mtn Rd was all fixed where it had a major land slide last year! Yea... that is my favorite stretch of road! Curve after curve!!!
Yippie! Great day of riding.
Bob, Lee, Scott and I had a super day!
Thanks Guys!

Well done Brick - really fun ride! I would have had to plan and install that route to my GPS. You just find your way around - how the heck do you do that??!!

Brick was the straight section on the screen shot a place where the cell signals was weak? I can't imagine a road that straight in Pisgah. that's one thing I noticed w checkmytour sometimes it looks like I flew home. For those that have this app Brick was using you can download his tracks. That's what I'm going to do to make sure I get familiar with all the good roads.

The app is Checkmytour.
The straight section is NC19 through Burnsville.

He's good, ain't he? Our "organic GPS". BTW Lee, in 1000 words or less in terms my feeble brain can comprehend---how do I get that map set you put on your GPS into my Mapsource so I can view all that stuff? <pop>

Bob, Going to the OSM web site map display is the easiest way to get a good look at what they've got. http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=13/35.9402/-81.7887

Here is an executable file that will install a version of the map that covers the area we would realistically run to your Mapsource program. Download the file from my Google Drive then run it on your computer. It does the job automatically. Then, choose to use the OSM map from your Mapsource map menu. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8d0Ijn4IBZ5b1hwdkJ6ZHFOQzA/edit?usp=sharing It does the same install with Basecamp.
