Ride Friday 12-6 to Uwharrie

Unread postby beemerdon » Sat Dec 07, 2013 7:27 pm

Three of us met out at the QT on #74 and took the back way to the Sportsman at Lake Tillery. After a quick burger we rode the Ophir-to-Troy loop and back to the Sportsman for some corn-free gas. We got back to CLT before the rush hour and the temp was about 75 degrees. In December! <icool> It's why we live in the South.

I'm guessing that was you, Terry, and Jim (Capo). Jim emailed me Friday morning but I had already pulled the tupperware off the GS to install my new Rigid LED aux lighting. Santa came early. Glad you guys rode--it was like a summer day! <claps>

Next time yall are heading over to Uwharrie (or anywhere for that matter) post up a ride here if ya want more company. I have never ridden over there and would like to check it out. Is the Sportsman the lunch stop also? I'd have to bring my extra gas cans for that corn-free petrol. <muaha>

Uwharrie was a popular winter ride destination when I lived in Chapel Hill. Here's a Google Map showing some "Best Of" Uwharrie meanderings if you're coming in from the west. http://goo.gl/maps/YnRUJ

Excellent! I was just getting ready to email you for this.

These will be some nice 3-4 hour cold weather "impromptu rides" for the Greater Gridlock Area. <muaha>
