Ride 12/6

Unread postby 007 » Fri Dec 06, 2013 8:11 pm

Broke out the leathers due to exceptional weather and went for a leisurely cruise today. Since there are regular accusations of not actually riding without photographic proof, here you go...

What happened? You slip and fall? <muaha>

What is that tire in the background attached to?

Riiiight. Slip and fall. I had the same problem on the left knee puck. Maybe I should return them as defective?

There were some four wheelers in the shop where I had the bike inspected, so I imagine the wheel was attached to one of them.

In other news, I sat on the new FZ9. I thought my 97 VFR had soft suspension, jeez. Heck, my K12S with 53K miles with the ESA in Comfy mode is more solid. Maybe when Ohlins does some work on it, I might be interested....

Yep, the FZ9 had a lot of good reviews, except for the suspension where corners were cut to keep the price low. But for the money, I think its a great new naked bike and bet Yamaha will sell a bunch. <joecool>

I hope they sell a bunch, but I talked to one of the salesmen who said a ton of people expressed interest, yet nobody has parted with cash. I asked him for a test ride and I might consider, but he said no, probably because he saw my knee pucks and the hooligan grin on my face.

Anyone know where I can buy some elbow sliders? <muaha>

It's been pouring rain here the last 2 nights so quite a lot of standing water and gravel washouts. My KLR is less offended by that sort of stuff so I went out for a jaunt yesterday just to check things out. It wouldn't have been good for spirited riding on the FJR. Caldwell county is under a winter storm watch starting tonight though it doesn't seem to be cold enough. We'll see.
