Wed Nov 6 - Stone Mountain, 88, the Snake

I set out about 9:45am after I decided the weather was warm enough to not need cold weather gear and could still get back before dark. Part of 88 was less than ideal, and I am pretty sure it was gravel painted to look like tarmac. I stopped to make sure it wasn't a bike problem, since my rear tire started to slide around with mild throttle. It was definitely the road. About 3 hours later, I filled up at the BP and ate Burger King in Mountain City. Then I rode the Snake about 8 times. I lost count. The new Pirelli Angel GT front was scrubbed in after a pace run. The last couple runs were balls out throttle with medium brakes. The rear end broke loose a couple times, and the pegs found the ground on 2 separate occasions. I really should get those feelers replaced. The Angel GT front is an amazing tire, even over some damp spots with light brakes. As much as I like the rear PR2s, I can't wait until I put on the matching rear GT!
Hopefully the whole gang can join in on the fun next week!

So tell us---do you like the snake much? <muaha>

I am skeptical any of this actually happened, as there are no pics. <pics>

What part of 88 was so bad--that part between Jefferson & Warrensville? Hopefully they haven't gone and chip/sealed the whole thing. <banghd>

Looks like snow in the mtns. next Weds. <pissed>

I wasn't paying much attention to which part was crappy road. Too busy trying to stay upright.
What do I look like, a tourist? There are no pics, you will have to use your imagination. It was something like this:
