Sports Cars Dodging the Storms Friday

Unread postby LeeDavis » Sat Aug 20, 2022 5:35 pm

The Friday forecast was rain starting early afternoon and, sure enough, after a Kaye's Kitchen lunch in Newland we could see black clouds over Roan Mt where we were headed. So, we went the other way across Fork Mt and Harrel Hill and only caught the occasional few drops. Here's a short 2 minute clip of us careening down Double Island, discussing suspension, with the camera mounted to Bob's Porsche.

Yep, we got a good 5 hours of moderate hooliganism in. Brunch at Kaye's was excellent! <thumb>

But we need a few more participants in the merriment. <grin>

It was a good day for cars. We had quite a few wet areas in shaded curves which would have been treacherous on bikes but not a big deal for cars. Some of that is evident in the video.

I wouldn't say its soft. But what I really think is you should buy Lee's Mini and go with us! <icool>

If the Veloster has an advantage (debatable) it's the car's "N" mode. That modifies the suspension, steering, turbo, throttle response, exhaust, traction control... and changes from a reasonable daily driver into something more track oriented.

Oh it has changeable modes… like the GS. [THUMBS UP SIGN]
