7/11/21 Early ride

The idea was to get an early start and have breakfast at the Famous Toastery in Blowing Rock. Four of us met at the Gate at 7:00AM… so we got our early start. It was a cool start with some fog down low but up 181 we rode into beautiful sunshine and Carolina Blue sky! The ride across 221 to Blowing Rock was actually quite slow. That beautiful sun was blinding right in our eyes! Not being able to see the road or what is in front of us is actually not much fun. However we made it an had a fantastic breakfast at the Famous Toastery! Yummmm!
It just so happens that David lives two doors from the Famous Toastery so he joined us after breakfast. We enjoyed a great ride and ended up in Banner Elk at the Cafe for lunch. [THUMBS UP SIGN]
With rain chasing us around the area we rode down 181 where we were greeted with hot and humid weather! [FLUSHED FACE]
All in all a great days ride of 216 miles.

That about sums it up. More than a 30 degree temperature swing, two tasty meals and rip roarin twisty roads all day long. Who could ask for anything more?
