Ken’s 6/30/21 Romp

Unread postby Brick » Wed Jun 30, 2021 8:13 pm

Five of us, Scott, Dan, Adrian, Adin, Brick met Ken at 10:30 AM at the Little Switzerland Cafe to be shown some fantastic roads. While I had previously ridden these roads rode most of them in the opposite direction that I had ridden them. Excellent! Lunch was at a great restaurant across from Mast General Store… I can’t remember the name. Food was excellent!

Here’s our ride. https://www.relive.cc/view/vPv4G4RnyRq

Good seeing everyone. It sure did hot down by the lake. Three close calls with Deer, one with a flying Turkey who crapped during his escape flight and one slowly leaking tire. Very lucky Dan made it home on that tire

Ken… when did you have these close calls with the deer and Turkey?

I had a close call with the dog and almost crapped my pants on that one.

Dave

Deer in the road coming down Sam Eller, another on my way up 226A after breaking off from Dan, and a third on my road in LS. The Turkey incident was on old Linville road, also with Dan. The bird was standing on the side of road and when we approached he decided to take off. He even crapped as he gained altitude. Whether defensive or involuntary it was bizarre.

Dan, did you see the Turkey crapping in the air? You may have been pre-occupied with a near flat tire.

If we begin riding electric bikes in the future we’re going to need to have audible sounds on these machines to alert animals or we’re doomed. I swear these close calls were avoided by the animal hearing is coming.

Wow! I think we need to arm the deer hunters with machine guns. [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]
