Easter Sunday ride 4/4/21

Unread postby Brick » Mon Apr 05, 2021 5:38 am

It was a four GS ride day. With Bob, Chris, Jim and I riding out of the Gate station. Lunch Home Place in Burnsville... yummy! From there Bob wanted to ride the “Creek” roads. So Jack’s Creek, Cox Creek... etc. After Harrell Hill Bob and Jim headed back toward Morganton and Chris and I rode up and across Hughes Gap and over Roan Mountain. Man that road 143/261 has taken a beating this winter. Plus they had lots of gravel down still from ice over night. When Chris and I got back the app said we had ridden 198 miles. Great riding day.

It was good on the Bueldean side and the gravel was just all hard pack the down hill to 143 had quite a bit of grave/sand... crap on it.
