Thursday 5/7/2020 Ride

Unread postby Brick » Thu May 07, 2020 7:05 pm

Today started out... cool but beautiful! Carolina Blue Sky. It was Scott, Clyde and I. Having sold my KTM 950 Adventure to Scott I had received a KTM safety recall and was delivering it to Scott. The recall said that they would replace the rear hydraulic brake line. I get to the Gate and Scott tells me that his rear brake locked up on him on the way to the Gate! [FLUSHED FACE] he was able to ride the entire day without out using the rear brake!
We successfully used our updated SENA intercoms in the Mesh 2 mode with very clear audio all day.
We found picnic tables along Rt 64 between Lake Lure and Bat Cave... for $.50/per person to enjoy our lunch. After we ate our picnic lunches we enjoyed a romp over 74 past Gerton, NC and back roads to RT 9 to Old Fort Rd. I ended the day with right around 200 miles.
Sorry y’all missed it!

Great news re the Sena audio--'bout time! <olfart>

Crazy timing on the brake recall--I don't think I could keep my foot off the rear brake for a whole ride. Maybe 5 mins.... <squid>

I discovered when starting out on a hill that the pedal was hard as a rock and had no influence on the caliper. So now it is just a foot rest.

Otherwise it was a great ride on a coolish day.
