Well I for one had a blast yesterday. I’ve wanted to ride the roads just west of Asheville and north of I-40 since Gary Lackey showed me them. Hoping I would remember them I suggested this ride for yesterday the 8th. Luckily Gary was free and joined us and lead us on a great romp.

(Oops when I named the ride I put May 9th by mistake)

Five of us left the BP station at 8:55 heading for Black Mountain and Louise’s Kitchen. The weather was glorious and we sat on the porch and ate Louise’s fantastic breakfast. Beachy joined us there. So now there were 6 of us... Gary, Clyde, Bob, Scott, Beachy and me.
Gary lead us on these fantastic roads. Late afternoon we stopped in Spruce Pine at DT’s cafe for a snack.
I got home at 5:00 PM.

Thanks all for a great day!
Brick

Yes the "roads west of Asheville" are twisty and never-ending. Thanks to Gary for leading us, never could have found all that on my own. <rdr>

Did I see Hookers Gap and Old Newfound road? I like the Relive APP idea, but it never shows which roads you're traveling.

A very fine ride indeed. The largest group we hav had in a long time. Louise’s sausage was outstanding.

I’m going to download the track from my GPS and then will have the gpx file of the route.
