After 2 weeks of constant rain, we finally made it out! <tour> Broz, DucatiBob, Scott, and I rode Old 18, 181, and 221 to Blowing Rock for lunch at Woodlands BBQ. After lunch, we took 194 to Meat Camp Rd to NC88 to Big Laurel to 421 to George's Gap, then 194 from Valle Crucis to Banner Elk, Hickory Nut Gap to Newland, and ended up at Jonas Ridge where we waited out a late afternoon storm that was covering 181 and the Morganton area. The Iphone weather radar app is really quite accurate and useful! After about 30 minutes the storm moved south and we took 181 down the mtn. and then slabbed it back to Charlotte, as that same storm was starting to move east and looked to be chasing us at one point. The mtn. weather was sunny blue skies and 70F temps the further west we got from Blowing Rock; it seems that first mtn. ridge where the BRP runs (aka the Blue Ridge Escarpment) is the main trouble maker weather wise. We stayed dry all day. Home at 6:30 PM.

Only 1 pic. <dope> But it DID happen. <claps>
