Sunday 7/15... Knobbies ride

Unread postby Brick » Sun Jul 15, 2018 10:51 pm

Well it turns out that there were only four of us in the “fast” group. After eating breakfast we kicked tires and then decided on The Captains Table near Hampton, TN on Wataga Lake. Scott got out his Tenere, Matt on his FZ6, Ken on his Aprilla and I was on Red Molly the FJ09.
Up 181 to Spanish Oak to 19 to Old Beach Mountain rd to 321 via Buckeye. 321 took us right to the Captains Table. As it turned out only 7 of the Knobbies showed up for lunch.

After Ken led us on a spirited romp 173 to 107 through Buleadeen. A quick jaunt over Harrell Hill down 197 to Double Island rd. 80 to 7 mile ridge rd Bear Wallow to a stop at the Big Lynn Lodge. [THUMBS UP SIGN]

All in all a great days riding. Then down to the hot flat land. Home 5:30ish.

Was a great day of riding. After 6 years and 30K miles the Ténéré still puts a smile on my face.

Hmmm... That doesn’t sound like a bike I would want to sell. YMMV!

Nice riding with you guys. I was a little worried about Matt getting home safely though the heat of the flatlands. He did well to keep his pace in perspective. I commend that.

It was a joy to ride and break bread with you all. The Drunken Mussels lived up to the reviews from Brick.

I love good seafood--maybe we can do that one again on a future ride. Nice change from BBQ. <olfart>
