Scott and Bob ride again

Unread postby Bob » Thu Jun 07, 2018 9:17 pm

Today, Thurs. June 7, we rode. Brushy Mtn Rd (forget it!!), NC18 to Sparta. 18 is a really fun ride, esp the 13 miles from Laurel Springs to Sparta. Almost forgot, Scott and I swapped bikes for the jaunt from Wilkesboro to Sparta--the FJ09 is a wicked little devil! <tour>

Lunch at the Mexican spot there (Mis Arados), and the Huevos con Chorizo was very tasty.

Then we headed north up 21 and hopped on Comers Rock Rd and a few more that I had connected together, that culminated on Old NC16 heading into Jefferson ( a fun road in its own right). From there we headed south and jumped on the BRP down to 181 into Morganton and a romp down Old 18 (of course).

The Virginia farm country makes for a relaxing laid back kinda ride. Scenes like this were the norm. You shudda been there!

Excellent! I saw a lot of hay bailing going on on our ride today from Kingsport, TN to Hopkinsville, KY. [THUMBS UP SIGN] Almost 400 miles today.

Was a great ride and the RT is a magic carpet ride. I forgot to mention that on Sundays ride I had the pleasure of watching a deer chase Bob down the middle of the road.
