Burnsville, Big Laurel, and beyond 6-21

Unread postby Bob » Sat Jun 22, 2013 9:35 pm

Ed, Broz, Ducati Bob and his friend Dave, and I made a nice 350 mile loop on Golden Valley Rd, NC80, Big Laurel Valley, Revere Rd., Walnut Creek, Paint Fork, Ox Creek to the BRP, US74 thru Bat Cave and home again. D-Bob and Dave split off towards the end for a jaunt north up the BRP, while the rest of us did the US74 thing. Lunch was at the Garden Deli in Burnsville. Revere Rd. was especially nice, with a fresh surface of asphalt; it never ceases to amaze me how well the NCDOT keeps up that "road to nowhere".... <tour>

I kept forgetting to grab my camera so I have a grand total of 2 pics. Here they are--if anyone else took any feel free to post them.

Sorry missed your ride.

Really fine day for being out, and great to see a couple of different machines... couldn't help drooling over DucatiBob's "S", and Dave's Cagiva seemed ideally suited to the mixed-surfaces kinda riding we do.

Haven't seen lots of Kentucky, but the areas I've been through look like great riding.
