Thanks for being our tour guide Brick! 380 miles (+/-) for us flatlanders. Great company for a fun ride on a gorgeous day.

Lunch at the Tributary in Mtn City. Broz lost his head there for a minute. <bugeye>

Yall heard me moaning about the B's handling the 2nd half of the ride. Get home and take a close look at the tires, front tire is toast at 1800 miles--TWI's at outer edges are flush with tread surface. 'Maybe' one more 200 mile 'gentle' ride left but that might be pushing it. So much for Bridgestone Battlax's. Rear tire looked good, 4-5mm tread left. PR4 on order. The sooner I can eliminate that CLT to Morganton "commute", the better.

Yeah it sucks. But *maybe the rear will make up for it and go 4K+ instead of 3K as on the RT. If so I'll just have to change the fronts more than rears but in the end it should cost a little less. The B's front tire is the exact same size as the RT's, yet it weighs 150 lbs more and is more front-heavy esp when braking.

Edit: just found reviews on these Bridgestone tires at Revzilla--none good and this one sounds just like me--maybe these are strictly OEM el cheapo tires:
"Fastest wearing tire to date
I have had two sets of BT021 on two Triumphs, and ST 1050 and a GT. They handle well in both wet and dry and give great feel when new. Steering is light and the bike is nimble
However, lifespan is very short around 6000 miles. When the front gets to about 50% worn the steering becomes very heavy and the bike wants to turn in harder than you do and they follow every bit of unevenness in the road. A set of Pilot Powers on the ST out lasted the 021s by almost 4000 miles.

You forgot to tell everyone how lucky I was....got a flat, noticed it after lunch 20’ from gas station and Napa Autoparts. It was a good thing cuz I needed more rubber cement. The old openeded tube evaporated. Probably a good idea to keep an in-opened tube on the bike at all times. Had Air hose at my disposal. Easiest flat repair ever.
The Later in the day I found a wad of cash in Red Hill. Lucky Irishman!

Broz, I just had a flashback--I dropped that money when I pulled my wallet out on the way into the gas station. Glad you found it! Just hang onto it until the next ride. <bana>
