Jeff, Greg, Scott and I met at the Halfway and Jeff lead us on quite a route. <scoot> <scoot> <scoot> <scoot> <scoot> <grin>

I shudda asked more questions before we started, but instead I decided to drive Jeff nutz all day asking where the hell we were and where we were going lol. Some of the roads I had ridden once but most were new to me, and fun! Western NC really has some great scenery southwest of Asheville--lotsa lakes (and dams)! I took a few pics, hopefully Jeff will chime in re. the route too. Great company, weather, scenery, even the food at the Mexi spot in Columbus----422 miles of twisties & 12 hours for me. <whew>

Sorry guys, I'm just now seeing this post!

The unknown territory to which Bob refers is mostly the Wolf Creek Lake/Wolf Mountain area, roughly10-12 miles due west of Brevard along NC-281 and across Charley's Creek Rd east to NC-215. I rode Jeeps and dirt bikes in that area, all the way west to Murphy NC when I was a little sprout. Started re-exploring on the FJR a few years ago. It's quite a hidden jewel with very little population or housing.
