Friday Ride to points west of Burnsville

Unread postby Bob » Fri Apr 30, 2021 10:25 pm

After meeting at the Gate at 10:00, Brick, Scott, Flip, and I headed around the north side of Lake James on fresh asphalt on 126 and up NC80 to Burnsville for lunch at Bubbas. After burgers and brisket, we took Big Laurel down to Chapel Hill Rd, then up Cutshall Town Rd (great sweepers!) to 352 and then took a new route parallel to Tilson Mtn Rd (sort of) from I-26 over to 19W (Gentry Mtn Rd/Coffee Ridge RD), then down 19 to Coxes Creek/Jacks Creek/Crabtree Creek....Hey Phil, help me out--you got that ride app don't ya? I'm tired of typing. <olfart>

But it was a very brisk ride, lotsa fun on roads we haven't ridden in quite a while (or maybe never even). <muaha>

I didn't remember to start tracking the ride until we finished lunch. I'll try to do better...

Yea it was a fun ride. Bob took us on a romp as he was on his game. I was struggling to keep up all day. I definitely enjoyed exploring new roads. We thought perhaps that one road was going to turn to gravel any time but it was paved all the way through. [THUMBS UP SIGN]
All in all a great days ride.
Thanks for leading Bob!

Couldn’t have asked for nicer temperatures but it was a tad windy. Great fun all the way around.

I really enjoy Chapel Hill and Cutshalltown roads. It’s been waaay too longer those 2 needed resurfacing. Have to try Gentry road next trip out that way.
