Suweet! I caught one about twice that size surf fishing down at Cherry Grove with a cane pole. Is that the stuffed fish they take along for all the touristas to pose with?

So did the inlaws "survive" the fishing trip, if you get my drift...... <grin>

Yep! ...they even let you drag it behind the boat for a while, to get "action" shots.

Wow nice pics. My daughter worked in Costa Rica for a while and we made a visit to see her there. What a beautiful country. Never did fishing there. Looks like I missed out on some awesome fun. Welcome back. Don

Yep, makes your arms burn... trying to shake off a hand cramp in this pic ;)

We had two going at the same time, you can see them both in mid-jump in the next photo... buggers were a long ways out there, it's a lot o' cranking when you're only gaining a few inches at a time~!!

We got five into the boat (catch and release), and had a couple that hit and got away... best fish of the day was this beauty:

We enjoyed the place a lot, Don. Our villa was maybe three miles north of Jaco, about a mile from the beach and ~400 meters elevation... here's a shot looking north up the Gulf of Nicoya, it's about 2MB so I'll link instead of posting it:

Wow... Now THAT is seriously COOL!
Especially since it was catch and release!
