I'm cleared to ride again...

Unread postby Brick » Thu Oct 06, 2016 2:52 pm

After a great Cardio Dr app yesterday he said I could go back to riding again. But... "no extreme stuff" whatever that is! So I dose 50 miles yesterday! [THUMBS UP SIGN] Slowing back into it. It's been two months and two days since my heart attack!

That's great news! I can't imagine anything we typically do could be considered extreme.

Well, 10 hours in the saddle might be borderline xtreme for someone recovering from a cardiac 'event'. Brick, try to hold it down to no more than 9 hours at a time, mmm k? <muaha>

Ok so yesterday I rode... yes it's true not a little test ride. I got up left the house at 49 degree 7:00am. Went to breakfast with the Knobbies. Then Gary wanted to ride over to the last day of Overland Expo being held at Biltmore. So with our daughter Teresa and son-in-law Steve here from San Francisco and it was both of there birthdays I couldn't stay out all day. So I rode as far as Marion the back way. It was fantastic to get out on the Tenere again. I love to hear how it honks on the gas! Anyway I rode back home on other back roads and had a great time. 106 miles, not extreme at all. As a side note it turns out that Gary and Chris did not attend the Overland Expo. Admission was $30/day pass PLUS admission to Biltmore!!! That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard!!! Who would do that???

Sounds like Biltmore gave the Expo a free venue because of the big admissions they got.

Good to hear you can stretch out you're riding some!

It's stated on the event web site - Biltmore entrance fee required.
