Snazzy new wheelsDrove up to DC and rode her back home yesterday.
Figured I'd join the BMW club too. 2008 K1200s 19k miles Frame sliders, driving lights, throttle Meister, sport bags, Puig screen, new tires and recent major BMW service. [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Live to ride, Ride to live.
Re: Snazzy new wheelsNo way!!!! WAY!!!!!
Where'd ya get it? Dang, thats a leap from the little Honda. Congrats!! Bob
Re: Snazzy new wheelsI drove to DC from Greenville Nc yesterday. Guy was super nice, had gotten himself in some debt to the IRS so he let it go for a smoking deal. It's in great shape.
The abs motor is out, but it's a pretty easy fix or I can just ride without it. All in all I'm pleased. 6-7 hours on the interstate yesterday with it for my first ride, not the best but it's a great bike. Smooth and just mind bendingly fast! Handles way better than I thought it would too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Live to ride, Ride to live.
Re: Snazzy new wheelsModule Masters in Idaho can rebuild the ABS module. Some shocks would probably transform the handling. Ask 007.
Also, you may be able to replace the brushes in the ABS motor and fix it yourself. Bob
Re: Snazzy new wheelsThat's the exact plan!

Re: Snazzy new wheelsThanks Broz, figured a little horsepower in my youth was probably okay. I trust myself enough not to abuse it.

Re: Snazzy new wheelsdoes this put the project bike on the back burner and by the way there is someone parting out a 2000 vfr on charlotte craigslist
Re: Snazzy new wheelsI've gotten a few parts from him actually!
Project bike is still in the burner for sure. In fact hope to have the radiator and headers back on her this week and then she'll be running again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Live to ride, Ride to live.
Re: Snazzy new wheelsHe now technically owns 4 bikes, I think. He will be using my K12S as an organ donor of sorts, then putting it back together and selling it or maybe trading it to his dad. Y'all missed out.
Re: Snazzy new wheelsYeah, only technically. The 05 K bike and VFR are...garage art... For now.
Someone buy this Triumph! It's a kick ass ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Live to ride, Ride to live.
Re: Snazzy new wheelsI've ordered the following for my 2008 K12S:
Peg lowering kit Headlight protector Givi E37 Monolock top case Grip Buddies Castrol 4t RS oil and K/N filter for an oil change LiquiMoly gear fluid for the final drive fluid change Oberon 36mm clutch slave cylinder upgrade Steves old 05 K bike will be donating: Ohlins front and rear suspension Rick Mayer saddle 3.3" bar risers with throttle cables and clutch line STM slipper clutch Booster plug Bestem Carbon fiber trim pieces and clear turn signal lenses that survived the accident last year And maybe a full Remus exhaust but I'm not sure I want it to be too loud. Re: Snazzy new wheelsWow---its like 007's K bike is rising from the dead lol!
What does the slave cyl upgrade do? Bob
Re: Snazzy new wheelsThe stock is 32, k1300 got a 34, I'm going to a 36. Makes the clutch pull much lighter and easier to modulate, stock it is quite heavy and harder to modulate smoothly.
