I've been known to do some mild lane splitting in Lenoir. Usually, for a right-on-red when there're cars in front of me going straight or left.

Careful. I had some good ole boys in a pickem-up truck on 321 in Lenoir get real vexed with me for not pulling over to the curb when a funeral passed in the opposite direction. They followed me for several miles, hanging out the window/etc.
