Thoughts on Used Dual Sport Bike - Suzuki DR350Looking for a used Dual Sport - came across this one on Craigslist - http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/5008255880.html . Price is high for 93 but only 5800 miles and some nice upgrades. Will try to take a look at this in the next week but was interested in the forums thoughts. Have not ridden dual sport - just a CR250 two stroke back in the 80s.
Re: Thoughts on Used Dual Sport Bike - Suzuki DR350Well, I am all for USED when looking for a dual-sport bike. I assume the DR350 was fore-runner to the DRZ-400S. All those "mods" he added would make me skiddish to buy it for that kind of money for a '93 bike. Did he do them correctly? Or at all? Those are all things internal that you can't easily verify. Maybe the guy is an honest, upstanding motorcyclist. And maybe not. The 400's come with pretty nice suspension that doesn't really need upgrading. For $2500 you can find a DRZ400S with maybe a few more miles but thats how I would approach it. And I sincerely hope you DO approach it!!
Edit: Lee needs to chime in here, as he recently bought an early model year DRZ400S. Bob
Thoughts on Used Dual Sport Bike - Suzuki DR350A fellow MSTA member and friend Jim Randall loves these DR350's. He has had a few. I think they are solid.
I couldn't get to the Craigslist... Said it had been removed?? I think they are solid. I am out riding my Super Teneré'! Brick

Re: Thoughts on Used Dual Sport Bike - Suzuki DR350Stupid board doesn't always notify me about threads so I missed this one. Anyway, for an older Suzuki DR bike I'd try a 2002 or newer DRZ400S. That's when the good front suspension starts. If you're really being picky the CCT got upgraded in 2003 though the newer part is inexpensive and easy to replace on a 2002.
Re: Thoughts on Used Dual Sport Bike - Suzuki DR350Lee, unfortunately notification by the board is sometimes spotty, for me also. If you clik on the link in the last notification you received, go to that posting, then log out and clear all computer cookies , this will sometimes restore the function. I have gotten in the habit of logging in and checking the main page frequently. If there are new posts you haven't visited, the blue arrow on the left will be flashing---if you watch for that you won't miss any. But it is annoying.
