The Cat in the Pipe

One of the more creative "Inmates" at ADVrider wrote the following and I was amused:

There was a big cat, in a pipe on my bike. And that cat in the pipe I did not at all like.

That cat could get hot and start a fire in the woods and I did not like it, It was not at all good.

It was next to the flap that did open and close: the bike maker made it and gave me one of those.

So I looked at the flap where it linked to the cable and quick as an unplug, it was stuck open, disabled!

Then I eyed the cat's guts, they were all grey and stinky and I knew what to do within one eye go blinkey.

Now the cat is still there, it sits where it should, looking normal and righteous and proper and good.

Did the guts go away? That's a tale for a campfire - with a dark velvet sky under blinking white stars.

But it begs the question---just how much more performance could you get if the cat were to just "go away" ? Anyone? ED?

Lets re-engineer what a manufacturer has engineered over years and years. It was ok prose however. [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]


I might be out riding my Super Tenere'

Once upon a winter dreary, while I rode all weak and weary,
Over many a cold and twisty back road enroute to the Halfway store,

While I raced on, almost napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As if something gently rapping, tapping from my engine’s core.

‘Tis the valves,’ I muttered, cursing, ‘tapping in my engine’s core—
Only this and nothing more.’

So today I am checking my valve clearances. Should take maybe 30 minutes at worst if no shims needed.

i did not like the sound of that work work work, so I bought a yamaha and now just ride ride ride
