New Yamaha What's-Its-Name

Unread postby LeeDavis » Tue Aug 12, 2014 11:07 am

Yamaha just registered this design for trademark in Europe and it sounds like they will display it at some trade shows, perhaps later this year. It's a tourer that's basically an FZ-09 with windshield, fairings, bigger tank, real seats, ... Touring bikes keep getting bigger, heavier and more ungainly - I've been wanting to go lighter - maybe this is it.

Read here: http://blog.motorcycle.com/2014/08/11/d ... rt-tourer/
I'm a bit bummed in that I was hoping it would be more of a 900cc Tenere' but they are just saying Sport Tourer.

Hope they get the suspension sorted. I could feasibly buy the FZ09, rework the suspension, add a big windscreen, and install saddlebags on the bike as it is. But it wouldn't be an $8K bike after all of that.
